The 7th Golf Committee Meeting (Held on June 8, 2025)

初夏を迎え、コースコンディションが大きく変化する時期となりました。

第7回ゴルフ委員会では、春以降に実施してきたコース内工事・作業の進捗状況ならびに、主要競技の結果報告、今後に向けた運営上の課題について確認・意見交換を行いました。

As early summer arrives, the course enters a period of significant seasonal change in its playing conditions.

At the 7th Golf Committee Meeting, the Committee reviewed the progress of course-related construction and maintenance work carried out since spring, reported on the results of major competitions, and engaged in discussions regarding operational issues and priorities looking ahead. Constructive exchanges of views were held to ensure the continued enhancement of course quality and the overall playing experience for our members.

コース内工事・作業状況について

Course Construction and Maintenance Update

【完了した工事・作業】

5月14日より、全ティイングエリアのエアレーション作業を実施。
7番・10番・14番ホールのグリーン周りベント芝のはみ出し補修工事を実施し、芝の活着を確認のうえ、6月8日より使用を再開しました。
暗渠排水および拡張工事を行っていた8番レディースティ、18番バックティは、芝の活着も順調に進み、6月1日より使用を再開しています。

これに伴い、一時的に変更していたコースレーティングも元に戻しております。

排水経路の見直しやティイングエリア高の調整により、水捌けは大幅に改善されております。

【今後の工事・作業予定】

6月8日午後より、今年2回目となるグリーンエアレーションを開始。
内径8mmのコアを使用し、通気性・透水性の向上および悪い層の除去を目的として実施します。
6月15日午後より、フェアウェイエアレーションを開始予定。
目砂作業を含め、約1か月間をかけて不陸修正とコンディション改善を図ります。
7月上旬より、1番・2番・9番・15番ホールのグリーン手前部における暗渠排水工事を計画。
水捌け改善を目的に、約1週間の工期を予定しています。

【その他の整備状況】

バンカー砂の補充は全体の約7割、シート張替えは約5割が完了。
USGA基準に沿った砂への入替を進めています。
目土箱を15番ティに新設。あわせて使用頻度を考慮し、一部設置場所の見直しを行いました。
毎週土曜日午後を中心に、マスター室スタッフおよび正キャディによる定期的な目土作業を実施予定。
6番・8番ホールの一部で問題となっている笹については、薬剤による試験散布を継続。
今後の経過を見ながらフェスキュー播種を検討します。

[Completed Works]

Beginning May 14, aeration work was carried out on all teeing grounds.
Repair work addressing encroachment of bentgrass around the greens on Holes 7, 10, and 14 was completed. After confirming proper turf establishment, these areas were reopened for play as of June 8.
The Lady’s Tee on Hole 8 and the Back Tee on Hole 18, where subsurface drainage installation and expansion work had been undertaken, have shown steady turf establishment and were reopened on June 1.

In conjunction with these works, the course rating that had been temporarily adjusted was restored to its original designation.

Through the reassessment of drainage routes and adjustments to teeing ground elevations, overall drainage performance has been significantly improved.

[Upcoming Works and Schedule]

From the afternoon of June 8, the second green aeration of the year commenced.
Using 8mm-diameter cores, this work aims to improve aeration and water permeability while removing undesirable soil layers.
From the afternoon of June 15, fairway aeration is scheduled to begin.
Including topdressing, this work will be carried out over approximately one month to correct surface irregularities and enhance overall turf conditions.
From early July, subsurface drainage work is planned in front of the greens on Holes 1, 2, 9, and 15.
The project is expected to take approximately one week and is intended to further improve drainage.

[Other Maintenance Updates]

Replenishment of bunker sand has been completed for approximately 70% of bunkers, and liner replacement for approximately 50%.
Replacement with sand meeting USGA specifications is progressing steadily.
A new divot mix box has been installed at the 15th tee. In addition, the placement of several boxes has been reviewed and adjusted based on usage frequency.
Regular divot repair work will be carried out primarily on Saturday afternoons by the Starter’s Office staff and full-time caddies.
Regarding bamboo grass issues affecting certain areas of Holes 6 and 8, trial applications of herbicides are ongoing. Based on results, overseeding with fescue will be considered as a next step.

We appreciate our members’ understanding and cooperation as we continue to enhance course conditions throughout the season.

2025年関東倶楽部対抗結果報告

2025 Kanto Inter-Club Championship – Results Report

本年度の関東倶楽部対抗競技において、当クラブは16位となり、残念ながら予選通過には至りませんでした。

出場された選手の皆様に、委員会より感謝と労いの意が伝えられました。

なお、今後の競技についてはキャディ不足等の影響により、セルフプレー開催が主流となる可能性があり、練習ラウンド回数の確保など、新たな対応の必要性が共有されました。

In this year’s Kanto Inter-Club Championship, our club placed 16th and, regrettably, did not advance beyond the qualifying round.

The Committee expressed its sincere appreciation and gratitude to all players who represented the club for their efforts and dedication.

Looking ahead, it was also shared that future competitions may increasingly be conducted as self-play events due to factors such as caddie shortages. As a result, the need for new approaches—such as securing sufficient opportunities for practice rounds—was acknowledged and discussed.

今後の検討事項・委員会意見

Matters for Further Consideration / Committee Opinions

月例競技会のA・Bクラス分けについては、引き続き委員長を中心に内容を整理し、次回委員会で方針を共有予定。
新規メンバー向けコンペ・競技の創設についても同様に検討を進め、委員会決定後、理事会へ上程予定。
キャディ夏服については、6月中旬より通気性の高い仕様へ変更し、空調服の併用も検討しています。
カートマナー、打ち込み防止、エチケット全般について、クラブとしての姿勢を明確にし、必要に応じて周知・啓発の機会を設けるべきとの意見がありました。

With regard to the A and B class divisions for the Monthly Medal competitions, the Chairman will continue to review and organize the details, with the proposed direction to be shared at the next Committee meeting.
The creation of new competitions and tournaments for new members will likewise be examined, and once approved by the Committee, the proposal will be submitted to the Board of Directors.
Concerning caddie summer uniforms, a transition to more breathable specifications is scheduled for mid-June, and the combined use of cooling or air-conditioned garments is also under consideration.
Opinions were expressed that the Club should clearly articulate its stance on cart etiquette, prevention of hitting into groups ahead, and overall course etiquette, and that opportunities for communication and awareness-building should be provided as necessary.
